Commissions
I occasionally also offer commissions. Have your favorite photograph transformed into an original oil painting. E-mail your jpeg image to me at barbara@bteusinkart.com and we can discuss the best options. I involve you during the entire process. I will provide a preliminary sketch for your approval. Upon sketch approval, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. This covers my time and materials. The remaining balance is due after final approval of the painting and is covered by my satisfaction guarantee. All copyrights on commissioned works are retained by the artist, Barbara Teusink. For pet portraits, you can find more info about getting started in my Pet Portrait Commission Guide.
Giclée Prints
I occasionally offer Giclée prints of select pieces of my artwork. Look for artwork labeled "Prints Available". If you are interested in a print and don't see it labeled let me know. I may be able to have one made for you upon request. (Not available for all paintings).
Barbara Teusink Art Prints are produced by a local printing studio, which provides superior fine art printing, widely known as giclée printing. Whether printed on archival paper or canvas, giclée printing is the highest quality, archival inkjet printing used to create digital reproductions of paintings. Because of its high quality and relative rarity, a limited edition giclee is valuable from its initial printing. But these giclée prints also become more valuable over time as the artist gains more and more recognition and the edition of the print sells out.
If you are interested in a Giclée, I'd love to talk it over with you so please let me know at barbara@bteusinkart.com.
Caring for Your Artwork
Once you decide to purchase or commission an oil painting (from me or any other painter of course) it might help to know just how to take care of it. So, I’ve put together an overview that will give you a basic understanding of how to take care of the original oil paintings you have chosen to make a special part of your personal space at home or work. While oil paintings are generally very durable, with proper care and handling, you can protect the artwork from deterioration and preserve its beauty for many years to come.
